Australia is facing serious challenges of climate change and a growing and ageing population. As Australia’s population and economic hubs, our cities are at the forefront of these challenges. The capacity of our cities to manage change and accommodate growth will determine the quality of life and economic prosperity of all Australians.
A National Urban Policy needs to help prepare our cities for the future.
Collaborative partnerships are crucial. As outlined in Partners in Prosperity, CCCLM’s 2007 policy document for capital cities, engagement with the cities is an opportunity to achieve national objectives.
