Backpackers can benefit from knowing about safety and security issues in the Perth innercity. The Backpack Safe card provides hints on what to expect in WA in relation to pubbing and clubbing and laws about public drinking.

Responsible drinking commercials

These are four winning commercials produced by Central TAFE students in the City of Perth and sponsored by the City of Perth and the BIGN (Business Improvement Group Northbridge). The girls and guys have made short but hard hitting commercials about the personal as well as financial costs of a big night out.

City of Perth – The Drink Responsibly, Act Responsibly campaign

The City of Perth with support from the WA Office of Crime Prevention and the Big N, have developed advertisements and posters for XPress magazine and XPress on line which will run in Perth throughout October 2011. The images for the ads were from TV commercials on responsible drinking produced by Central TAFE students in 2010.

The adverts in the print media will alternate between the male and female version on a weekly basis.

Posters have been distributed to many licensed venues in the Perth CBD and Northbridge and will be displayed in washrooms. Further support from the Office of Crime Prevention will extend the posters to metro hot spots and a series of coasters will also be provided to these venues.
