The Lord Mayors of Australia’s capital cities are calling on Federal politicians to invest in and partner with city governments to secure Australia’s economic future and the wellbeing of all Australians.
In a call to action, the Lord Mayors are seeking for the major parties to commit to:
1. Invest in nation building urban infrastructure
2. Promote ‘Smart Growth’ in Australia’s cities
3. Establish Federal, state / territory and local governments agreements to pursue joint initiatives
4. Hold a referendum to recognise local government in the Australian Constitution
